CHVRCHES Return With New Album 'All the King's Men' and 2027 Tour
The Glasgow trio’s first album in almost six years arrives January 22, followed by North American and UK tours starting in February.

CHVRCHES are back. The Glasgow trio announced Wednesday that their fifth album, All the King's Men, arrives January 22, 2027.
It has been almost six years since their last record, 2021's Screen Violence. The band says this one sounds different: the eleven songs lean toward indie rock and acoustic instruments, a step away from the synth-driven sound that defined their first four albums.
The shift was deliberate. After touring Screen Violence, Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty stepped back and agreed the next chapter had to be a genuine leap rather than a continuation.
Mayberry released her solo debut, Vicious Creature, in 2024. Doherty spent long stretches back in Scotland, steeping himself in gritty British films from Shane Meadows and Ken Loach and music from Massive Attack, Siouxsie and the Banshees and PJ Harvey. Cook moved away from electronics toward folk, listening to Nick Drake, Bert Jansch and the Incredible String Band.
Where Screen Violence was written remotely, the trio wrote and recorded the new album together in Glasgow, in multiple intense three-week sessions.
The lead single, “Roses,” arrived last month. Press materials describe an Orwellian growl at the darker undercurrents of British society; its closing line — “If I may command your undivided attention, now we can start” — signaled a band resetting the dial.
The album lands through Futures Music Group, and a tour follows. The North American leg starts February 13 in Philadelphia and closes March 14 in Los Angeles, with stops in Brooklyn, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Chicago, Seattle and Portland among others. The band then heads to the UK and Ireland in the spring, wrapping May 6 at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.
Before the album, two intimate charity shows: Glasgow on October 26 and London on October 29. Both sold out instantly.
Artist presales open October 27 for North America and October 28 for the UK and Ireland, with general sale October 30.
