Jeff Cannonball Dies at 39 After ALS Battle
The deathmatch veteran, a GCW Hall of Famer beloved across the independent scene, revealed his ALS diagnosis in May 2025. His wife, Terra Calaway, announced his death Thursday morning.

Jeff Guerriero, the independent wrestler known as Jeff Cannonball, died early Thursday after a battle with ALS. He was 39.
His wife, Terra Calaway, announced the death on social media. She said he died at about 2 a.m.
Cannonball went public with his ALS diagnosis in May 2025, after roughly a year of symptoms doctors struggled to explain. He kept posting about wrestling through the illness, and kept his Short Soda Reviews going — the series that helped turn the deathmatch veteran into a viral favorite.
He was a hardcore and deathmatch fixture of the East Coast independents, working GCW, CZW, H2O Wrestling, FMW and Limitless, among others. In MLW he ran with The Calling alongside Sami Callihan and Rickey Shane Page. His titles included the H2O tag team titles with Mitch Vallen as The Lone Rangers, the H2O Danny Havoc Hardcore Championship and the ISDub Falls Count Anywhere Championship.
The scene rallied around him. GCW inducted him into its Deathmatch Hall of Fame in June 2025. That September, Joey Janela organized CannonballFest in New Providence, New Jersey, with all proceeds going to Cannonball and his family. AEW's MJF was among the names announced for the show.
Outside the ring he played in punk bands Altered Boys and Black Kites. Peers, friends and family consistently described him as kind, funny and a genuinely good guy to be around.
He is survived by Calaway and their son, Milo.
