Tom Holland to Star in Sony Thriller 'Penthouse' From 'The Fall Guy' Writer
Sony Pictures pre-emptively bought the original project from writer Drew Pearce, who will write the script while Holland's Billy17 company produces.

Tom Holland has his next Sony movie. The studio has pre-emptively bought “Penthouse,” an original thriller from writer Drew Pearce. Deadline broke the story Monday.
The film is being developed as a starring vehicle for Holland. Plot details are under wraps. No director, no additional cast, and no release date have been announced.
Pearce will write the script from his original idea, with Holland and his Billy17 partners playing a part in its development. Holland will produce through Billy17 alongside his brother Harry Holland and producing partner Will South. Pearce will produce through his company, Point of No Return. Ian Fisher will executive produce for Point of No Return.
Pearce’s writing credits include “Iron Man 3,” “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw,” and “The Fall Guy.” He wrote and directed “Hotel Artemis.” His script for the “Thomas Crown Affair” remake, starring and directed by Michael B. Jordan, is set to reach theaters in March 2027.
The deal keeps Holland inside the Sony family. His company Billy17 already has a producing deal with the studio, and Holland has starred in more than half a dozen Sony movies, including four “Spider-Man” films and “Uncharted.”
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opened July 31 and has taken in more than $2 billion worldwide, according to reports. Holland also played Telemachus in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” this summer.
Next up, Holland plays Fred Astaire in a Sony biopic from “Paddington” and “Wonka” director Paul King. Margaret Qualley, Sabrina Carpenter, and Talia Ryder recently joined the cast.
