Ajay Devgn's Drishyam: The Conclusion opened in theaters on Friday. It collected ₹66.75 crore net at the Indian box office on its first day, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.

That is the biggest opening of Devgn's career. Worldwide, the film grossed ₹95.10 crore on Friday, with more than ₹15 crore coming from overseas markets.

Cinema Express, citing Sacnilk, ranks it the third-biggest Hindi opener of all time, behind Dhurandhar 2 and Pushpa 2. It passed Jawan, KGF: Chapter 2 and Border 2. Other trade estimates, cited by the Daily Jagran, place it sixth among all-time Bollywood openings.

The film is the third and final chapter of the Drishyam franchise. Abhishek Pathak directed it. He also directed 2022's Drishyam 2. The cast includes Tabu, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor.

Advance bookings opened on Sept. 27 and crossed ₹50 crore before release, the fourth-highest advance total ever for a Hindi film. Bollywood Hungama reports record occupancy at PVRInox and Cinepolis on opening day, with capacity issues at several locations.

Reviews have been strongly positive. Cinema Express wrote that the film “ably subverts the audience's expectations,” while Daily Jagran called the audience reaction universally positive.

Trade expectations are climbing. Bollywood Hungama projects a ₹180-200 crore opening weekend and says a ₹500 crore domestic run is in sight. That would make it Devgn's first film to enter the ₹500 crore club. Udta Teer, which had been scheduled for the second weekend, has moved its release to Oct. 23.

Early Saturday figures from Sacnilk put day two at ₹14.29 crore and counting, with the weekend still ahead.
